Its becoming tiresome, I've tried it 3 times on my home PC now sp1 and straight from the box..
Whats wrong with me?

Because you have this delusion that next time its gonna be fine and you'll have no problems with it.
Unfortunately you will regret it very soon after installation, and you'll wonder why you ever bothered in the first place.

Vista 64bit seems to be the way if you want Vista, Windows 7 runs quicker at the moment, but i've not been able to try the 64 bit version of of yet, hopefully next week that shouldbe around

Must admit, vista 32 came installed on the lappy.
Meant to uninstall it, but never bothered. Been fine once you get rid of most of the crap.

I wonder if they will release windows 7 sooner rather than later, could prove a nice improvement in performance and reduction in issues

Only really tried vista at any kind of length on our lasses laptop. my thoughts are... well its crap. Mind you i'm not that fond of xp at the mo, though vista does look pretty.
The one program that needs to disappear forever, is...... iTunes. It is so incredibly bad.

I tried Vista, oh god it sucked. Sp3 for XP also didn't help Vista.
