Hi fellas, been wanting to get a proper media centre under the telly for a while now and took the plunge.

Went for a lovely silverstone full atx case.
I went for a silverstone psu as well, what a good choice, really silent.
Graphics are handled by the rather good Sapphire HD4670 ultimate passive card.
Other bits are E6600 cpu, Asus p5b deluxe board, arctic cooling freezer pro 7 and Logitech Z5500 surround setup.

I am running win764 which is stable and all I could ask for. I run XBMC media centre software for movies, music, piccys, net vids, iplayer online and loads of other bits I am finding for this great piece of software. I set up xbmc to start with windows so all I need is the mce remote to navigate around in xbmc. I had to put a 20 sec delay in launching xbmc because it was starting before windows had finished which was a problem for the mce remote.

All done now connected via hdmi to me lcd telly and spdif optical to the surround amp.

Only slight issue I have now is in standby the flashing blue led on the front of the case is so bright you can see it shining up the stairs at night, the wife wants it sorted so looking for a dark felt tip to dim the led bulb or just a bit of silver duck tape cut to suit the silver case.

Well chuffed with it, the case is a peach to build in, very good internals for the size.

Pics to follow if anyone wants to see it.

Nells  :gsv:

Lol, the wife just went to bed, she put a picture in front of the blue led. I stuck a bit of electrical tape over them.

Sounds good mate. I take it you're not using your little black box thingy any more now? Was it a Western Digital Box?

Hi Hammer, my little black box was a HDX1000 media streamer. Its sitting unused until I sell it.

Piano is on ebay :2t: :gsv:

Does this mean that you don't have any spare ram now?
