I've never been to the European continent, but I've been told that they get "proper" snow. So why is it we get rubbish snow? I really don't like snow, but that could be because I only know of English snow.
I hope we get a decent Summer.

Man, I wish we could get some normal weather cycles... the other day I felt the warmth of the sun on my brow and said to a friend... "ahhh spring is on the way!" Practically the next day it starts snowing!

All to do with being a small land mass, gulfstream and the Coriolis effect 
If we loose the gulfstream you'll soon find out what proper snow is like Most likely at best we'll have weather very simliar to Canada and Europe at out Latitude. Worst case is it could push the Northern Hemisphere into the next ice age 
We are never going to have steady weather until one of those things change.
Also have to remember that we are at the tail end of an ice age
I love the oddities of British weather, screw having 50 degrees in the summer and 12 foot of snow in the winter

Ryan... Europe can be just the same bud... My brother lives in Germany... about 6years ago we all went over for Easter.. was fantastic weather, BBQ on the evening that we arrived..woke up next morning to 6" of snow that lasted 36hrs and then we had the sun and shorts weather again !!
Holland is the one place I wouldn't want to live... lovely place... but hell... when it rains.. IT RAINS !!! ..
