32bit is better for compatibility I believe.

Not sure on any major benefits of 64bit.....

but then I've been running a decent OS for a while now and tend to avoid Windows.
I'm backkkk!!!!

Sorry guys....the question is which of the two operating systems should I install out of

a ) Windows Vista 32 bit
b ) Windows Vista 64 bit

I don't want Linux, XP, Win98, AIX or OSX ;)

Oh and Gas....no I don't want a Joystick :whis:

Personally I've had no major problems with X64, with driver signing etc it can be a little harder to mess about with but it's nice and fast.

I don't know if it is much quicker than X32 tho so if you wanted a completely easy life X32 would be more suitable ;)

If you do go X64 just make sure you download the latest drivers before install as it makes installation so much easier. Also make sure Bios etc is flashed to latest etc

I have 32bit on my work laptop & my home PC, I would stick with 32bit as you only have 2Gb ram, if you were to stick 4GB in it, then I would then go for 64bit, drivers are getting better, you will only have issues with really old hardware and that's down the manufacturers

However I will be going back to XP very soon.

I have 32bit on my old xp2500 rig and it runs averagely, and i have the same vista on my media center, it runs brilliantly (now the driver issues are (almost) sorted).
The idea was to test it all out on the 32bit version, then change to 64bit once it was up and running, tbh, i can't be arsed setting it all up again, i'm happy it runs so much better on the better rig.

Think I might bite the bullet and go for 64bit. So there are little or no issues with applications and games?

I've not had any, steam works fine, AAO works fine, couple other games I've got seem to work ok

Can't see why not to install 64 bit tbh
