Iphone Unlocking Please

Hi guys, my bro in law bought an iphone in US and wants to get it unlocked.

Where do I start? I had a look about the net but am confused. Looks like there is so much bull talked about unlocking I need some personal experiences as a guide.

Anyone done it?

Not done it personally, but have a search on OcUK under the mobiles forum to see if thats any help
