Anyone use Solar Panels to any degree here?

Already thought of that, if it gets a bit too cloudy I'll hang one of these over it. Looks cheap enough.Dangerous Bob wrote: need some sun for those don'cha?

I was reading somewhere that you can collect solar energy using a panel weaved out of human hair. Cheap and renewable.

Something like that would be ideal, even I could throw one of them together. I don't think it would generate enough current for some of the bigger wattage requirements such as a water heater or lighting within the house. However the wattage indicated in the article would be great for powering the water pump in the back garden, maybe not the pond, put certainly the sprinkler for the potatoes, herbs, spaghetti and other vegetables we have growing there. I wonder if there is a tech sheet out there somewhere on how to make one of them.Nellyboy wrote: I was reading somewhere that you can collect solar energy using a panel weaved out of human hair. Its amazing discoveries like this that are so simple yet are just overlooked by so-called scientists. I think it is more than their overlooking them, more like avoiding them. Like the recent realisation that reversing the polarity of the current in your washing machine makes it produce protons instead of electrons to power the washing machine. This then means that your clothes aren't only being washed, they are being microwaved and irradiated at the same time. An absolutely astounding discovery. Sadly, Indesit are keeping that quiet too so as to release it as a 'futuristic discovery' once they have cleared out their backlog of older technology.
I'm telling you, technology is being grossly retained by the ridiculous insecurities of, well, money grabbing geeks.

Haha, won't necessarily be the money grabbing geeks making those sorts of decisions m8e. More like people like me who would advise that we need to button down the patents and trademarks etc prior to release and as I want to retain my job and improve my career progression I'd have a vested interest in making sure someone else doesn't get their mitts on it first to market
