slightly irratating. but we were crap. there is nothing like a good england defeat to bring out all you annoyances for football, coupled by:

<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 758153.stm" target="_blank">Pearson to Hull</a>

Very unhappy today

I dont usually do football but they embarresed themselves tonight.
How many times did the german teram run down the left then pass over to the guy stood on his own on the right, no defenders anywhere near him..

Yeah so people will say that if the equalizer had been allowed that it would of changed the team dynamic, doesnt matter a toss, they were completely out played and didnt deserve to win.

How many excuses have we heard about these games up to now?

I've heard that teams aren't/weren't playing well because of:

The ball... wrong shape? (Allegedly due to its having 8 panels instead of ~14)

They are tired...

These multimillion pounds earning professional footballers were confused about their positions on the pitch...

The pitch condition isn't too great...

Well, I have heard this described as "a disaster" in the press. Bit OTT really.

We weren't good agreed, but we did better than France and Italy, the same as Portugal (Ronaldo and all) and only one worse than Brazil and Argentina. I think we all forget only one team can win the World Cup. But for a slip by Green, or one minute less in the USA's last group game and we'd probably have got a bit further.

AT least we only lost 4-1 (or 4-2) to Germany!

Holland to win BTW, I have been saying since before the tournament started

I dunno Clingy, Germany for the most part were playing like clockwork. England really didn't have a clue. It was asked a few times during the game "what is that defender doing over there?", "who was that player passing to?"

I've got to agree with the commentators and post-game analysis - England are fortunate that it was only 4-1 and not 8-1.

Personally I'm not too fussed about the Ref not seeing the goal scored by England, they dive and cheat like any other team out there and what goes around comes around. Sadly it's part of that other side to the game...

What I liked about the world cup was the lack of diving and theatricals.
Once the Refs had given a couple of cards out for diving in the preliminary rounds, surprising the efforts that players made to stay on their feet....

It's just the hyperbole of the media I absolutely detest, it's a sheer and utter disgrace :whis: ;) .

Everything is "disastrous" or "brilliant". How many times did you hear Hansen and co saying "without a shadow of a doubt". The way they fawn over Brazil and Argentina was aslo difficult to take.

I don't deny England were dissapointing, but a "disaster"? No, a disaster is losing a loved one, innocent people getting killed, famine, destruction of your home....under performing, overpaid prima donnas are not "disasters".

It was good to watch Germany, until Spain bored them into submission.
