Just wanna know what peoples ideas are for this little battle for the future of HD entertainment.
atm Sony are winning just through sales of there PS3 and outselling HD DVD 2:1 in terms of DVD sales. But outside of owners of a PS3 theres not alot of choice for Blu Ray players and by all accounts the PS3 is the one that acctually givs the best quality so far.
But I can soon see the battle swinging the other way, Sony has some big players backing it but microsoft certainly seem determined to see there side win after paying Paramount $100 million dollars and Dreamworks animation $50 million for them to release all there future movies only on the HD DVD platform having them join up with universal.
At the moment though in terms of Blu Ray players PS3 is the cheapest at £300+ which HD DVD you can pick up a Toshiba for £180 delivered and claim 2 free HD DVDs worth about £30-£40 and Walmart the worlds largest supermarket chain have just bought 2 million HD DVD players which theyll sell at $300 so approx £150 and once they hit £150 I think theyll start to become mainstream thats when I think HD DVD is going to win the battle just soley on how cheap you can pick up the players soon.
Personally im very tempted to dip me toe in and buy a cheap Toshiba player just for getting stuff like Planet Earth and Top Gun.

Well, the amount of money in the US spent on porn is enough to clear the third world debt three times over I think, so yeah, it'll be a heavy influenceThane wrote: Porn industry has backed HD-DVD, might not think it but it will be a heavy influence.

Blue ray is the one with all that copy protection stuff isn't it?
