Whos is using what atm?
Im currently on with Nildram 2mb down 512 up with a 50gig cap, went woth them years ago due to great cs pings, but that seems shot to bits now if AAO and others are anything to go by, think the £25.99 a month for what I get is a bit steep. Ive a 50 gig peak cap only using 5 to 10 gig peak a mon, closer to 5 than 10, so who would you recommend thats cheaper but will not show any drop in performance?

NTL 8meg here.
Bought NTL 2 meg for £25.99 and they upgraded it to 8meg for free. Never had any issues with it at all, apart from all the junk NTL send me trying to give me other services.
Get ~ 180kbps download speeds and a ping of about 12 in cs
edit: claw, it'll still be 256k up, mine is still 256. Sucks really.

I'm with BT.
Never had any probs with them.
2Mb conn, no downtime at all in 3 years, pings are fine.
only problem is the price, £30 with a 40Gb cap.
I know there are cheaper options out there, and if I had any troubles whatsoever, I'd drop BT like a very hot scorchy thing.
Even got that oodjimiflip code number thing off them just in case I want to cut and run in the future.

Dangy, I'd suggest if you want to stay with BT that you have a gander at their site m8e, their doing this total broadband crap atm.
If you retain the 40Gb cap you could drop price to £26.99 and get an 8 meg line.
I've looked into it and they say my line will only offer up to 5.5meg max. Only thing is it's another 12 month contract. They also offer loads of other crap with the service like norton internet security and wireless telephone for VOIP calls.
If you use their own compare service and select Tiscalli 8Mb they charge £17.99, have unlimited usage but offer none of the addons which imho are total garbage to anyone who knows what their doing anyway as all of us do. We've been using VOIP and teamspeak etc for years before all the big companies decided to cash in.
The only problem is the e-mail address's, my dad uses them now for business so I'm abit worried that if we swap we will loose those. Might have to start making sure that all my mail goes to other address's from now on and get him to do the same. Then we can switch to a provider who has less restrictive packages.

I've gone for the Total BB packeage with BT, upgrading to the 50Gb limit at £30 a month. They have suggested my line should give up to 8Gb. I know its another 12 month contract, but tbh apart from a couple of hiccups when I first started with them when ADSL was first introduced in my area, the service has been rock solid, not even a wibble.
I've heard a few complaints about a few other ISPs including Tiscali, used to be with them back in 56k days I think.
I quite like some of the addons, the free wireless router will be good, although I've not bought the PCI cards for the PC's as IMO they are a bit over priced. Dabs do some dabsvalue ones which come recommended at £12 each.
I've also gone for the home hub phone thing. This should help save the cost of phone calls that the wife makes, as long as it doesn't sup too much bandwidth with her on the phone and me on BF2/AAO. Interesting thought.
will see how it goes and probably you lot will get to hear of any quibbles I get anyway.

I'm on the BT total broadband, using the (Free)Voyager 2500 router(Home hub came out 2 weeks after I upgraded
), apart from the initial profiling you have to go through for ADSL Max (7-10 days) & a disconnection which seems to happen once a night @ the same time I join a server
, pings are good & stable & the VOIP never seems to effect this. The VOIP page on the router allows me to set the quality of the line to either 60kbps or 120kbps.

Im currently with Entanet, Work pay for it, but its around £25 + Vat per month
Thats on Max ADSL, I get 5.5mb down and 768k up, 20:1 contention, cap is 45gb peak times and 300gb for the rest of it.
I get around two disconnections in the evening.

I'm prob going to go for the Option3 and have the 40Gb limit, the wireless is a waste of time and generally insecure. I'm currently using 3 other houses wireless for downloading
And it was cheaper for telephone calls to just pay BT the set payment for free calls to any landline number any time of the day (upto 1 hour).
I've not had any probs with BT, but I just think their a touch expensive. Tiscalli is about £100 cheaper per year.
