Taken from a thread on Hexus

Anyone got a PS3 who would consider helping medical science for 24 hours?

You see, Team HEXUS is involved with a project called FOLDING @ HOME.

Folding involves your PS3 running a process that folds proteins, and makes all the possible combo's including the ones that make people sick,

Then the results are uploaded, and it goes towards the greater good.

The CPU on a PC can do it.
The Radeon graphics cards based around X1900's do it like a supercomputer (uber fast)
The Quad Core Intels are like demi gods...

but there is only one real god of FOLDING....

the PS3.... <a href="http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-PS3.html" target="_blank">http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-PS3.html</a>

Want to use it's power? While it's not being used for games of course.

It's a brilliant idea and a noble cause, but considering the environments PS3's are normally located in, and their overall design - are they suited for 24/7 running?
Just be a nutter... life becomes much more exciting, and people won't expect anything more of you...

I'm doing the same but the individual stat page hasn't been updated in months.
