Hehe I regularly get 8 - 12 pheasants in my garden, just need to get a way of trapping them now

Do you have to do anything special with em to get them to lay every day, or do they just lay when not sat on an egg?

Are they a lot of work to look after?

I'm inspired... :)

Nice one Slatz :2t: looks like we are going to have to have a Poultry section on the forums.

The black is laying an egg a day also.

Aside from the regular cleaning of the coop & making sure there is plenty of food & water there no bother to keep, now the dog is used to them they have the run of the garden in the daytime & put them selves to bed at night, we just have to ensure the door is closed & locked, just in case Mr.Fox comes calling.

They are hardly any bother at all. No noise, other than a calming cluck, cluck.
They put themselves to bed, and the poo is great for the compost bin.

All we need to do is make sure there is plenty of water and just sit back and enjoy them footling about in the run. Haven't given them the freedom of the back garden yet, that will have to be supervised though as I want to keep them off my veggie patch.
