I assume from <a href="http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20091207PB201.html#" target="_blank">this</a> snippet that sellers like HP can buy a complete netbook/laptop device for as low as $45 when ordering by the million.
Do you remember all the struggles to make a laptop for every child in africa for under $100? Well if they ordered by the million them green simply designed ones could have been bought for about $20 each surely.
All sounds like we will be getting just as screwed in the future as we have been in the past.

I suppose when you factor in, badging, the OS, packaging, marketing, shipping, etc, it will possibly come to more than that. BUT....
